Professor Recep Şentürk

Professor Recep Şentürk is a globally recognized scholar of Islamic thought, sociology, and civilizational studies. He currently serves as the Dean of the College of Islamic Studies at Hamad Bin Khalifa University and is the Founding President of Usul Academy.

He earned his Ph.D. in Sociology from Columbia University and previously served as the President of Ibn Haldun University in Istanbul. His research focuses on social networks, Islamic epistemology, human rights, and the intellectual history of the Muslim world.

With numerous publications in multiple languages, Professor Şentürk is known for advancing the concept of “open civilization,” encouraging dialogue between traditions while rooted in Islamic intellectual heritage.
